The United States Environmental Protection Agency has ordered Coventry-based Cosmed to comply with federal clean-air regulations.
The company uses ethylene oxide, a known human carcinogen, to sterilize medical equipment, and the order specifically requirees the company to comply with sections of the National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants.
