PROVIDENCE – Curt Schilling, the former Red Sox pitcher who is looking to relocate his video game company 38 Studios to Rhode Island pending closure of a $75 million loan guarantee from the R.I. Economic Development Corporation, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Providence Business News Business Excellence Awards.
The 10th annual awards ceremony will take place on Nov. 18, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at the Providence Marriott at 1 Orms St.

Schilling, founder and chairman of 38 Studios, recently signed a lease at One Empire Plaza to move his company from Maynard, Mass., and Timonium, Md., to Providence, with the expectation to create about 450 new jobs in the Ocean State by 2012.
