CVS reported year-to date same-store sales increased 10.3 percent for the 21-week period ended May 26. Pharmacy same-store sales increased 16.1 percent for the period, the company said.
According to a CVS spokesman, the actual dollar values for same-store sales were not available.
Total sales at CVS for the 21-week period ended May 26, 2001 increased 12.9 percent to $8.78 billion, compared to $7.78 billion during the year-ago period. The company operated 4,131 retail and specialty pharmacy stores in 31 states and the District of Columbia as of May 26, 2001.
