Daniel S. Samborn has been named chief executive officer for the American Red Cross of Rhode Island. He has more than 20 years of Red Cross experience, most recently serving as director of development/marketing and communications in Charlotte, N.C. Samborn received the national fundraiser of the year award in 2000. He is a graduate of Edison College in Ft. Myers, Fla.
