WARWICK, R.I. (PRNEWSWIRE) — As a result of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) lottery that reduced the number of LaGuardia flights Delta Connection carriers can operate, Delta airlines said it will suspend service of its Delta Connection carrier ACJet between Warwick, R.I. and New York’s LaGuardia Airport.
The suspension of services will begin in February.

According to Delta, the FAA conducted the lottery to reduce and reassign slots to reduce delays at LaGuardia. Because the lottery changed the number of flights Delta Connection carriers can operate at LaGuardia from 68 to 31 departures, Delta Connection carriers will no longer have slots to serve some communities, including five daily round-trip flights to Warwick, the airline said.
