Developer claims financing in place for Brookline hotel

BROOKLINE – Plans for an eight story Marriott Courtyard hotel at Coolidge Corner seem to be reaching fruition as the developer, Richard L. Friedman reported he had obtained financing for the $30 million project. Friedman told the Boston Globe he expected that construction would begin next week on the 188-room hotel. It would be the first commercial project in the area in 20 years, according to the Globe. Friedman is also the developer of the Charles Hotel in Cambridge.
