Dr. Laura Niesen de Abruna has been named senior vice president and provost at Roger Williams University. She previously worked at Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio, where she was dean and vice president for academic affairs since 2004.
She has a bachelor’s degree from Smith College in Northhampton, Mass., and earned her master’s and doctorate in modern American and British literature from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
