Jean M. Hood has been appointed associate vice president of human resources at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), effective January 16. Her responsibilities will include directing the management, planning, and implementation of human resource programs and policies in the areas of compensation, benefits, labor relations, recruitment, EEO and employee communications. Hood previously served as associate dean for human resources at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University for nine years and assistant director for human resources/affirmative action at Emerson College for six years. She has also worked for The Urban Institute in Washington, D.C. and Lord and Taylor in Dallas, Texas. She received her undergraduate degree from Lesley College in Cambridge, Massachusetts and holds a certificate as a senior professional in human resources from the Society for Human Resource Management.
