Elizabeth Francis has been named to the board of the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities. Francis serves as director of corporate and foundation relations at Brown University with a focus on biomedical initiatives. She is the author of “The Secret Treachery of Words: Feminism and Modernism in America.” She has served as a reviewer for the College Entrance Examination Board and a developer of multimedia history. •
