EPA extends comment period for Central Landfill plan<br>

BOSTON – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has extended the public comment period to September 21on its proposed plan for dealing with offsite effects of the Central Landfill Superfund site in Johnston, R.I. The EPA proposes to restrict remedial cleanup requirements to those already under way at the Central landfill. Citizens at an earlier public meeting requested the extension of the public comment period. Written comments on the EPA’s proposal my be submitted to Byron Mah, Remedial Project Manager, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency New England, HBT, One Congress Street, Boston, MA 02114-2023.
