Erik Dyson has overseen the construction of structures both big and small. The Mattapoisett resident started his career with Habitat For Humanity International leading the development of more than 100 new homes in El Salvador. He also led the launch of the nonprofit’s operations in Costa Rica.
More recently as an executive at GTECH, Dyson oversaw construction of the lottery firm’s 10-floor world headquarters next to Waterplace Park in Providence – from selecting a developer to navigating the public approval process to hammering out leases with tenants.
Along the way, Dyson also handled the negotiations that led to pharmaceutical firm Amgen signing a long-term lease for GTECH’s West Greenwich campus, among other accomplishments.
Since 2006, Dyson has been regional vice president for GTECH’s Latin America and Caribbean operations, which totaled $105 million in revenue in 2007. He manages a work force of 435 employees in 16 countries.
Dyson graduated from American University in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He earned an MBA from Harvard University in 1999.
After working for Habitat for Humanity and two real estate developers, Dyson joined Providence-based GTECH in 2004 as senior director of corporate real estate, a position in which he oversaw the company’s 2.4 million square feet of leased and owned properties worldwide.
Now as regional vice president in Latin American and the Caribbean, Dyson is principal negotiator for contracts, partnership agreements and acquisitions in the region. •
