Fox TV selects APC for power supply

American Power Conversion, one of the world’s largest providers of equipment that serves network-critical physical infrastructure, announced that Fox Networks Engineering and Operations has selected two APC units to protect and maintain power availability for Fox’s television programming.

Fox, which produces television programs such as the NFL and MLB on Fox, required a solution to support its IT and digital broadcast equipment utilizing 50,000 square feet of space in the company’s 200,000 square foot facility. APC’s scalable Symmetra modules for facilities, data centers and other mission-critical applications proved to be a good fit and is capable of handling higher capacity and availability needs for Fox’s future growth plans.

“After carefully reviewing what was available on the market, we felt that APC’s Symmetra unit offered superior availability through its modular design, as well as increased manageability, and serviceability,” said Trevor Candler, Fox NEO’s executive director of plant operations and construction.
