CHELMSFORD – Alcatel, a French communications giant, has purchased Astral Point Communications, an optical networking firm, for $134.4 million, the Boston Globe reported. An Astral Point executive predicted that most of its 175 employees would be retained and remain at the Chelmsford facility.
