One week after increasing by an average of 13 cents, gasoline prices in Rhode Island have risen again, but only by a small amount, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s July 18 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.419 per gallon, up a penny from last week and 26 cents over the last five weeks. The current price is 43 cents higher than the $1.989 found a year ago at this time.

The survey found a 15 cent difference between the lowest ($2.34) and highest ($2.499) prices recorded. Thus, AAA urged motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area.
