Genzyme to anchor Kendall Square project

CAMBRIDGE– Genzyme Corp. has agreed to anchor a Kendall Square development project that is planned. The developers, Lyme Properties announced that an environmental cleanup of the site is under way and work has begun on a 2,000 car underground garage. In addition to its headquarters building, Genzyme is also reported to have agreed to lease an adjacent laboratory building. Vertex Pharmaceuticals, another Cambridge biotech firm has also agreed to occupy lab space in a third building in the development.
