Genzyme unit seeks OK for cardiac measuring device

CAMBRIDGE — Genzyme General announced that its Wyntek Diagnostic unit plans to
file for Food and Drug Administration marketing approval in 2002 for a test to
diagnose myocardial infarction.(heart attack), the Boston Globe reported. The
test measures cardiac marker proteins that are useful in diagnosing heart attacks.
It will involve the use of a mobile device and reactor strip that can be used
at a patient’s bedside or in an emergency room.
