EAST BOSTON – Despite a reported 2 percent increase in sales in the third quarter, Gillette Co., maker of razors and blades, Duracell batteries and oral products, reported a 15 percent reduction in profits for the period. Gillette reported sales for its products rose to $2.36 billion, while noting a decline in profits for the period to $296 million, the Boston Globe reported.
