Global telecommunications station set in Lynn

LYNN — A British Columbia telecommunications company, 360 Networks has opened its trans-Atlantic cable landing station in this city. The station, which will begin service this winter, will link Boston directly with Halifax, Nova Scotia, Dublin, Ireland and England. The fiber line will be capable of handling 1.92 trillion bits of data per second, or twice the current traffic of the entire Internet system.
