Grow Smart RI launches resource directory

Grow Smart Rhode Island, a coalition geared to fighting sprawl and promoting urban revitalization, has launched an online resource directory to better connect people and businesses with “smart growth” resources, from community groups to lawyers.

The Smart Growth Yellow Pages, posted at www.growsmartri.com/yellowpages, have a dual goal of fostering a more organized network of development professionals, community leaders, government officials and citizens, and to generate income for the coalition’s outreach, advocacy and municipal capacity-building activities.

“With the state’s recent emphasis on ‘quality of place’ as an economic development tool for attracting new business development, the time is right to provide a network for the many businesses, organizations and municipalities that have the desire and/or expertise to shape our communities in ways that avoid sprawl and revitalize our cities and town centers,” Grow Smart executive director Scott Wolf said in a news release.

Organizations can get listed in the directory for $175 per year. Registration is available online or by calling John Flaherty at (401) 273-5711, ext. 5.
