Hasbro introducing virus game for children

PAWTUCKET — Hasbro is test-marketing a new computer game based on the idea of
competing deadly virus. According to the Associated Press, Hasbro is giving 1,700
of the wireless devices, called Pox, to children in the Chicago area. That technique
will be repeated in nine other cities this summer as the toy and game company
prepares to offer them for general distribution and sale. The new hand-held game
is designed to detect “alien virus” within 30 feet and “attack.” The winner claims
the loser’s body parts for its own library. These conflicts can occur automatically
even when not being carried by the owner.
