Hasbro Inc. of Pawtucket announced it could face a fine ranging from $236,000 to $38.3 million under a British inquiry into alleged anti-competitive pricing practices, Reuters reported.
Hasbro said it received an inquiry in the third quarter from the U.K.’s Office of Fair Trading seeking information about trading arrangements between Hasbro’s U.K. subsidiary and direct retail accounts, which represent the bulk of its U.K. business.

The toy manufacturer reported the probe in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. it said it is cooperating fully with U.K. authorities.
Hasbro added that it expects that some fine will be imposed and that it has accrued a charge to earnings equal to the low end of the fine range.
