James E. Ross has been appointed vice president of the trust and wealth management division office of Sovereign Bank. His responsibilities include expanding trust and wealth management opportunities in the Providence area. A Johnston resident, Ross was vice president of the private clients group at FleetBoston Financial Corp. He has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Rhode Island and is a certified trust and financial adviser. He is also a past president of the American Lung Association of Rhode Island.
