J&W students heading for Salt Lake, Olympics


PROVIDENCE – About 150 Johnson & Wales University students from all five of the university’s campuses, including 40 from the Providence campus, have left for Salt Lake City, Utah, for two weeks training in the Olympic Village prior to the Feb. 8 opening of the Olympics. After their training, the culinary students will be serving residents of the village during the games. Native Rhode Island participants include, Derek Bouchard, Smithfield; Christopher Boyle, Cranston; Stephen Carbone, Warwick; Kristen Cole, Providence; Derek Hague, South Kingstown; Danielle Pagliarini, Cranston; Patrick Thompson, Providence; Nancy Tynan, Portsmouth; Leanne Ucci, Warwick.
