John J. Bowen has been appointed to serve on the board of directors for Washington Trust Bancorp Inc. and its subsidiary, The Washington Trust Co. Bowen is currently the chancellor and CEO of Johnson & Wales University. He serves as a board member for several other organizations, including Crossroads Rhode Island, the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce and the Rhode Island Commodores. •
