John P. Duraes has been named president of the New England Healthcare Engineers’ Society. Currently, Duraes is facilities manager at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford. He has more than 10 years of health care engineering experience and has served in his current position for Southcoast Health System for 10 years. Duraes has been a member of NEHES for eight years and has served as treasurer and president-elect. •
