Kathleen C. Hittner, MD, the president and CEO of The Miriam Hospital
in Providence, recently received the American College of Healthcare Executives
Early Career Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award. The award recognizes ACHE
affiliates who have significantly contributed to the advancement of health care
management excellence and the achievement of ACHE goals. Certified as an American
Board of Anesthesiology diplomat she is a clinical professor of surgery (anesthesiology)
at Brown Medical School. Hittner received her medical degree from the Tufts
University School of Medicine. She lives in Providence with her husband.
