KMI forecasts a surge in interconnect hardware

A new report released by the Newport-based consulting firm of KMI forecasts
that the market for single-mode fiber optic interconnect hardware will expand
to $6 billion by 2005. According to the report, annual growth for the single
mode connectors is forecast to increase at a 45 percent compounded annual growth
rate while growth for multimode connectors in the U.S. will be only 19 percent.
