Kristen Haffenreffer Moran has been named the director of development for the Institute for the Study and Practice of Nonviolence. She started her career as a grant writer, and in 1997 became the founding executive director of Rhode Islanders Sponsoring Education. After 10 years at RISE, she left to become a fundraising and event-management consultant for various nonprofit agencies, including the institute. •
