MIDDLETOWN – KVH Industries Inc. today said it has received a follow-on order for more than $2.6 million worth of TG-6000 inertial measurement units for use in the Navy’s MK54 torpedos.
The TG-6000 uses fiber-optic gyro technology to measure speed, acceleration and direction, KVH said, and is suitable for navigation and guidance of manned and unmanned aerial and underwater vehicles.

Shipments for this option – the first of three possible under a September 2005 contract with a potential total value of more than $15.8 million – will extend into next year.
