KVH Industries reports profit

MIDDLETOWN — KVH Industries reported a 60 percent increase in revenue for the
fourth quarter that ended Dec.31, 2000 from $5.5 million to $8,8 million. The
company also reported increased earnings for the last quarter compared with 1999,
at $0.01 profit per diluted share compared with the $0.17 percent loss a year
ago. KVH attributed its growth to its success in three of its areas, fiber optics,
mobile satellited communications and tactical navigation. For the full fiscal
year 2000, KVH reported a 32 percent increase in revenue from $22.8 million a
year ago to $30 million for 2000, producing a net loss for the year of $0.12 compared
with $0.37 cents a share for 1999. KVH makes high-bandwidth communications products,
navigation systems and fiber optics products. In addition to its headquarters
here in Rhode Island, KVH has fiber optics factory in Illinois, and a European
sales, Marketing and support office in Hoarsholm, Denmark.
