LaMonica recognized as a top female executive in business

PROVIDENCE – Susan LaMonica, Citizens Bank chief human resources officer, was recognized with the bronze award in the Female Executive of the Year category at the 14th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.

LaMonica, a high-ranking executive at the Providence-based bank, was hailed at the event designed to honor women executives, entrepreneurs, employees and business owners.

“My goal as chief human resources officer is to create an inclusive environment that leverages the capabilities and ideas that our colleagues have to offer in an effort to deliver a consistently outstanding customer experience,” said LaMonica in a statement.

More than 170 executives from around the world served as judges. They considered more than 1,500 entries for about 90 categories.

“The judges were so impressed with the accomplishments of all the Stevie Award-winning women and organizations,” said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of the award competition.

Citizens, a subsidiary of Citizens Financial Group Inc., is the largest Rhode Island-based bank.

“This award reflects the great efforts of the strong team we have here at Citizens,” LaMonica said.
