Local hospital ranks high in financials

Rhode Island Hospital is the only hospital in the state to be recognized among the best in the country for low costs and low charges and using a strong financial position to reinvest in its facility to improve overall care. The Five-Star hospital ranking in the Community Value Provider listing, a proprietary index created by the private firm Cleverly + Associates, was designed to offer a measure of the value that a hospital provides to its community.
“We have worked hard to fulfill our mission to serve the people of Rhode Island and to improve our facilities for our patients and their families while focusing on the financial challenges that all hospitals face,” said Dr. Joseph Amaral, president and CEO of the hospital.
