Marsha Garcia has been appointed sustainability officer at the University of Rhode Island. Prior to her appointment, she had held the position for a year on an interim basis. In her role, Garcia is responsible for working with faculty and staff to reduce the University’s carbon footprint. She has worked for the National Wildlife Federation, the U.S. Green Building Council and the American Institute of Architects. •
