Mary S. Prashaw has been named head of the torpedo systems department at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport. She manages a staff of 268 involved in planning, direction and conduct of the division’s full-spectrum program. Prashaw has been with the center for more than 20 years and is recognized as the technical area expert for all torpedo-related activities of the U.S. Navy. She received a bachelor’s degree from Providence College and a master’s from Indiana University. Prashaw lives in West Greenwich.
