Melissa Devine has been appointed director of work-based learning at the Rhode Island Hospitality Association and Education Foundation, based in Cranston. She is responsible for developing school-to-career programs and hospitality curriculum to support elementary, secondary and higher education through business/ school partnerships. She also assists in creating and facilitating fund-raising initiatives for the foundation, and serves as staff liaison to the board of directors. Devine previously worked as tourism communications coordinator for the state tourism division of the R.I. Economic Development Corporation. She is a member of the Women in Hospitality and Tourism Council. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island. Devine lives in Wickford.
