Mixed Magic Theatre to move to the Hope Artiste Village

PAWTUCKET – Mixed Magic Theatre is moving to the Hope Artiste Village at 1005 Main St. from its current downtown Pawtucket .

The new venue is approximately 5,000 square feet as compared to the previous 2,200 square feet and will include a 125-seat performance space, offices, rehearsal hall, dressing rooms and an art gallery.

Mixed Magic is planning renovations, including building a stage, the seating platforms and updating the lighting system; the theater company is currently $4,000 into a $17,000 campaign to raise funds for the development project.

“The attitude and energy of the Hope Artiste Village certainly was enticing…we’re surrounded by like-minded people,” said Jonathan Pitts-Wiley, artistic director of the Mixed Magic Theatre. Other tenants of the mixed-used space include: The Met Café, Roshina’s Restaurant and Seven Stars Bakery, which houses its production facility in the complex.

Mixed Magic was located at 171 Main St. in Pawtucket for approximately five years.
