ANDOVER, Mass. (Bloomberg) — MKS Instruments Inc., a maker of gas-measurement instruments used in making semiconductors, said it agreed to buy On-Line Technologies Inc. for $23.1 million in stock, cash and assumed debt to expand its line of measurement-control products. MKS Instruments said it will pay 660,000 shares of its common stock worth $12.4 million at $18.81, assume $9.2 million in debt from closely held On-Line Technologies and pay as much as $1.5 million in cash based on future sales and the number of patents received by On-Line.
