4. CVS to lay off 2,900 workers companywide in new round of job cuts POSTED ONLINE: SEPT. 30 CVS Health Corp. told its employees that it will lay off thousands of employees as part of efforts to cut costs. Subsequently, the pharmacy conglomerate is laying off 632 remote and in-person employees at its company headquarters in Woonsocket.
