SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — Motorola, Inc., whose Massachusetts offices include those
in Mansfield and Cambridge, has announced that it expects sales to increase by
approximately 5 percent in the third quarter of 2001 versus the second quarter
of 2001. The company expects to incur a loss of several cents per share in the
third quarter, after pro forma adjustments. For the fourth quarter of 2001, Motorola
expects another sequential increase in sales of approximately 5 percent, and expects
to be slightly profitable, after pro forma adjustments.
