The Route 10/6 corridor has a new landmark, with a 300-foot sign completed atop the Rising Sun Mills in Olneyville, Baltimore-based developer Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse announced Wednesday.
The sign’s 225 individual florescent lights form eight-foot letters that spell “Rising Sun Mills,” which motorists will see for the first time when officials from Struever Bros. and Providence-based co-developer The Armory Revival Company hit the switch Wednesday evening.

“[We] believe signage is important to the overall … project,” said Larry Lichtenauer, a spokesman for Struever Bros., “and [we] think that completes the project.”
The developers have renovated the 130-year-old mill property into 310,000 square feet of residential, commercial and office spaces. Struever Bros. also plan to rehabilitate a mill site at 60 Valley St. into a mixed-use property.
