Nortel Networks remains No. 1 in Value-Added IP services market

BOSTON (BUSINESS WIRE) — Nortel Networks remains the clear leader in the global
market for value-added IP (Internet Protocol) services with a market share of
51 percent for the fourth quarter of 2000, according to the latest figures from
Synergy Research Group, a leading market research firm. Nortel Networks Shasta
5000 Broadband Services Node (BSN), a key component of Nortel Networks recently
announced Personal Internet initiative, enables service providers to offer their
business and residential customers a range of network-based, value-added IP Services,
including Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), managed firewalls and personal content
portals.
