Patricia Sylvia, director of marketing communications for Cox Communications New England, has been appointed president of the board of directors for Special Olympics Rhode Island. She has served the organization in a variety of capacities, from helping showcase the accomplishments of the Olympians to obtaining special guests for the Sports Celebrity Carnivals. Sylvia continues to promote SORI through specials, events and Cox Communications’ Platinum sponsorship. She has been a member of the board of directors since 1999, most recently serving as vice president.
