State Representative Antonio J. Pires (D-79) has announced plans to file legislation aimed at increasing security at T.F. Green Airport.
At a press conference held near the airport in the lobby of a hotel, Pires said the legislation would appropriate approximately $2.5 to $3 million from the state budget to the Rhode Island State Police for the purpose of creating a full-time, permanent security force at the airport. He noted that security forces currently in place are temporary.
