Providence firm acquired for $67M

Stamford, Conn.-based Pitney Bowes Inc. announced Tuesday that its Management Services subsidiary has signed a definitive agreement to acquire all the stock of Providence-based Ibis Consulting Inc. for approximately $67 million.

Ibis, a provider of electronic discovery (eDiscovery) services to law firms and corporate clients, employs approximately 100 people. Pitney Bowes provides mailstream software, hardware, services and solutions to help companies manage their flow of mail, documents and packages.

Subject to regulatory approval and completion of other customary conditions, the transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2006.
