The Savings Bank Life Insurance Company of Massachusetts (SBLI) donated $4,000 to Louie’s Place at the South Providence Neighborhood Ministries during an on-field ceremony at McCoy Stadium.
The funds were donated as part of the “SBLI Stolen Base Learning Initiative” in which SBLI donated $100 to a community organization for every stolen base by the Pawtucket Red Sox this season.
“We are thrilled to support such a worthy organization as Louie’s Place, and are very fortunate to have a partner like the PawSox, who feels the same way we do about protecting families and helping children,” said Robert K. Sheridan, president and CEO of SBLI.
Louie’s Place is a nonprofit youth program offering after-school and summer day camp activities for children in the Providence area. Kids receive help with homework, learn interpersonal nonviolent problem-solving skills, and receive nutritious breakfasts, lunches and snacks on nonschool days. •
