John J. Palumbo has been named president at Rhode Island Monthly Communications,
Inc., a magazine publishing company owned by the Providence Journal Company. He
has been publisher and general manager at Rhode Island Monthly Communications
since 1997, and has previously served in a variety of marketing and communication
positions at the Providence Journal Company since 1988. Palumbo is past president
of the Market Development Federation of the Newspaper Association of America as
well as past first vice president and past president of the International Newspaper
Marketing Association. He currently serves as treasurer of the City and Regional
Magazine Association, which represents more than 80 city and regional magazines
throughout North America. He graduated from the University of Rhode Island and
is a resident of North Providence.
