PROVIDENCE – Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Rhode Island increased by 304 Tuesday, with four new deaths, the R.I. Department of Health said Wednesday.
Hospitalizations of COVID-19 patients in the state totaled 148, a rise from 135 one day prior. Of those hospitalized, 34 were in an intensive care unit, a rise of three day to day, and 24 were on a ventilator, level with one day prior.

There have been 866,743 total COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the state to date, a rise of 8,200 day to day. To date, 366,525 individuals have been fully vaccinated against the virus, a rise of 4,906 day to day.
Confirmed cases of the virus in Rhode Island have totaled 147,601 to date, a rise of 381 from figures reported Tuesday, accounting for the day-to-day increase, as well as data revisions for previous days.
Deaths due to the virus in the state have totaled 2,668 to date.
There were 20,160 tests processed Tuesday, with an overall positive rate of 1.5%. When excluding both repeat positive and repeat negative test results, the positive rate was 16.9%.
There have been 3.98 million tests administered in the state to date to 893,092 individuals.
