Raytheon gets Navy contract for laser-guided bombs

LEXINGTON — Raytheon Corp. announced that it had obtained a $64.2 million contact from the U.S. Navy to make Paveway II laser guided bomb kits. Raytheon has been the Navy’s only source for the Paveway kits since the 1960s. The kits are for 500 and 1,000 pound bombs. Preliminary work will be done at Raytheon plants in Andover, Mass., Tucson and Sherman, Ariz.
