LEXINGTON– The Department of Defense has approved a joint venture of the Raytheon Co. with Thomson-CSF of France to produce a variety of ground-based air-defense electronics. Thomson is the largest military electronics company in Europe. Raytheon is the number three-defense contractor in the United States.
