Raytheon’s new business jet’s debut delayed

LEXINGTON — The debut of Raytheon Co.’s new Premier I business jet has been delayed, the company announced, without disclosing the reason for the delay, although a company spokesman said it was convinced the Federal Aviation Administration would not issue permits for the plane before the end of the year. It is the second delay for the aircraft and comes as Raytheon is seeking a buyer for its aircraft division. In its filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Raytheon also announced that it and Hughes Electronics are seeking an arbitrator to resolve their differences over Raytheon’s purchase of Hughes’s assets in 1997.
